I apologize for my absence, fellow spiritual wanderers: I have been somewhat busy of late poring over Sigmund Freud's "Interpretation of Dreams," which has led me down a very steep rabbit-hole indeed. After all, how can I interpret the appearance of my dentist with dishevelled hair and blood-shot eyes standing in a room fluctuating between my kitchen and high-school science lab? Perhaps it is a calling to professionalize myself (represented by the dentist), get serious about my cooking (kitchen), and experiment in the manner of a chemist (science lab)? Or does the sloppy appearance of the dentist warn me of my fate should I pursue this path? Maybe I just need my teeth cleaned - it has been a few years, after all.
Anyways, I digress. In fact, digression has been the major theme these last few days, and it is simply inexcusable. To remedy this sorry state of affairs, let's take a brief look at some of the major topics dominating the news cycle this last week; luckily, little has changed in worldly affairs since my last piece, making this exceedingly easy:
1) Israel continues to pummel Gaza & Citizens ("...civilian casualties will be high, by necessity" - Toronto Sun).
2) Western leaders continue to denounce death and destruction while simultaneously supporting it.
3) Anti-semitism continues to rise, along with articles reminding me that anti-semitism continues to rise.
4) Another conference on climate change is held, telling us that things are looking grim. But! There is still hope! (Cue funding announcements for e-vehicles and carbon scrubbers.)
5) The cost of living is high, and people are worried. But the data shows inflation is coming down. But prices remain high. But consumer spending is high, so things aren't so bad. But no one can afford a home. But homes are becoming affordable. 90% of the population is in debt to afford a home, making interest-rate hikes especially painful. But the economy is cooling. But consumer spending is high. We avoided a recession.
6) Donald Trump said something silly, and major media outlets immediately updated us on said silly comment. This marks nearly a decade of the symbiotic relationship between Trump and mass media. Who is the benefactor? Where does it begin and end? Stay tuned for my in-depth analysis (still untitled).
In conclusion: another day, another doldrum. Is it no wonder legacy media is suffering? The sheer boredom is becoming so unbearable, I may be forced to turn to more radical content, strictly for the thrill a little outrage brings me. Perhaps The Epoch Times? Daily Wire+? The Enquirer? Maybe I'll just go see Godzilla Minus One, and bask in the scenes of rampant CGI destruction. Is life pointless?

BREAKING: Henry Kissinger, paragon of American foreign policy, has passed away at the ripe old age of 100. He will be mercilessly vilified by his detractors, and unnecessarily glorified by his admirers. Aren't we all, posthumously?
